It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my friend, Charles Moore on January 9th.
Most people know Charles from his signature chickens, horses, pigs, etc., as well as folk art themes made from clay.
In our area he is known as a folk potter of great skill, a man that could do just about anything, and a man that would go out of his way to help any man, women and child. He was always good natured and as Vernon Owen (who owns Jugtown Pottery where Charles worked for 40 years) says, "We had known each other and worked together all our lives, and we never had a cross word" . . . He was that type of man.
At the funeral each grandchild told how very proud they were of their Grandfather and how he had always had time for them no matter what else he had going on. Their memories were so touching that I don't think there was a dry eye in the church.
I will remember him as the most honest, kind, humble and caring human being that I ever had the privilege of calling my best friend.
